My prayers and thoughts are with the family. Just remember the Bible passage that says "Blessed are those that mourn for they shall be comforted." I hope that you find that comfort and that your faith will guide you during this difficult time.

To the family of our dear friend, Lavern:
Be strong and continue to trust and believe that God's knows best. We will forever miss her. She left us so many wonderful memories. My most memorable memory that gives me peace of mind when I think about my dear friend Lavern is how she never met a stranger, the love and kindness she displayed to everyone and how she was never too busy to listen to what others had to say.
RIP Lavern, we will forever LOVE YOU!

My heart is so heavy now, Miss Freeman was the most sweetest, gentle spirited and soft spoken woman I've ever met. I met her at Howard University, Miss Freeman has always made you feel special. I've always loved to hear her talk because she would make you laugh with her great sense of humor. R.I.P. Miss Freeman, God has one of his sweetest Angel with him now.

Miss Free was a true gem! I met her first as a student at Howard University in the Office of Student Activitites and later had the pleasure of working with her in that same office. Her love of the students was refreshing and truly an inspiration. I loved her little sayings, quoting of scriptures and the her gentle voice. A true protector of students and great advice giver. Never fearful of telling people that God loved them and she loved them too. She always knew how to make me chuckle. She would say "I'm a little piece of leather but I'm well put together." Rest in peace Miss Free and I love you!
