Mark Nickens was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. In addition to being a true Mackin Catholic High School student, athlete, and graduate, his love for his family and his longtime active parishioner at Incarnation Catholic Church speaks volumes about his character and personality. May Mark´s soul rest in peace.

I first met Mark when he played ball with my brother Angelo at Mackin. We reconnected when he started hand dancing in the 2,000's. He absolutely loved the dancing and we always had fun "cutting a rug" on the hardwood. He always had a kind word and a beautiful smile. My deepest condolensces to his family and friends.

Mark and I dated for two years and he was one of the nicest, sweetest persons I know! I saw him a couple months ago and we gave each other the biggest hug not knowing it would be for the last time. My heart is broken, love always, June

Would play pick up basketball with Mark after I followed the same path. A Mackin Trojan and AU Eagle. Mark was like mentor. A great dude no doubt about it. Would always run into him after we stopped playing in the Brookland area and Mackin reunion events. It´s was always like we just finished playing pickup and talking afterwards as we did many of times. Rest in Power friend

I ran into Mark at AU after he transferred in. We sat on field enjoying a gourmet meal which consisted of hot dogs on dry bread. We laughed and talked our days at Mackin and the great time it was.

Mark was the brother-friend whose love showed up in laughter, whose wisdom came wrapped in humor, and whose presence made even the hardest conversations feel lighter.
He was one of the truest people I´ve ever known. I´ll miss the laughs, the deep talks, the inside jokes only we understood. But more than anything, I´ll miss him.
Rest easy, my beloved brother. You were and always will be irreplaceable.
