NATHAN CAMFIORD Obituary

NATHAN CAMFIORD (Age 43)
Died suddenly from respiratory failure on December 4, 2015 in Roanoke, VA. A long time resident of Fairfax County, he is survived by his mother, Tiana Gillespie Camfiord; brother, Jason; and half brother and sister, Miles and Elizabeth Herzberg, two nephews and two nieces. He was a talented musician and composer in his teens and became a volunteer fire fighter and paramedic in several counties. He spent nine years in Burlington, VT as a highly respected counselor and foster parent, working with emotionally challenged teens. Returning to Northern Virginia and firefighting, he became disabled with cervical dystonia. He then turned to photography of the fire departments. His editor described him as one who captured the heart and essence of the fire service. His photos hang in fire stations throughout Virginia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1 p.m., at Clifton Presbyterian Church, Richards Lane, Clifton, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to your county fire department or The Wounded Warriors Project.

I will truly miss Nate and his pictures. I never got to meet Nate face to face but he could sure tell a story in pictures. RIP my friend.
