Nelson E. Greene Jr. (Age 79)
On Monday, March 14, 2022 at home in Alexandria, VA. Co-Owner and President of Greene Funeral Home Inc. Husband of Donita Greene; father of Nina, Nelson, III "Chip", Derrick Greene, and James (Brooklyn) Washington; grandfather of Justice, Major and Harper Washington; brother of Terry F. Greene; godfather to Carolyn and Cherilyn Tompkins, Barry Monica Hughes and Stacey Leggett. He is also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Nelson will lie in honor at Greene Funeral Home, 814 Franklin Street, Alexandria, Virginia on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Additionally, the family will receive friends at the Calloway Chapel of Episcopal High School, 1130 Thomsen Lane, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment services will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

My condolences to the Greene family. Nelson Greene Jr. was a kind man who handled numerous funeral arrangements for my family and countless others in the metropolitan area. He was easy to work with, and had a wonderful sense of humor in times of sorrow. The era he belonged to has come and gone; he will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to the family. There are so many memories that we can´t express them all; however Nelson will be truly missed by us and the Alexandria community, among others.
