Patrick Shane Donahue, born June 19, 1937 in Ft. Wayne, IN, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on August 17, 2016. Shane was a true gentleman, life long scholar, and had a staunch curiosity towards theoretical cosmology. He graduated with a degree in Philosophy/Political Science from Marquette University during which time he met his wife Diane. He then went on to receive his Law Degree (J.D.) from Indiana University. Upon graduation, he worked for the Department of Navy until he was offered a position in Washington D.C. with the General Accounting Office and moved his young family to Mason Neck, Virginia where he spend the remainder of his life. Shane is survived by his wife, Diane; brother, Terry (Jo), and sister Nan (Jim); sons, Kevin (Wendy) and Sean (Michelle); grandchildren, Brandon (Hannah), Colin, Meaghan, Erin, Nora; and great grand child, Oscar. Prayer Service Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mount Castle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Rd., Woodbridge, VA 22191. The funeral mass will be held Friday, August 26 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 13752 Mary''s Way, Woodbridge, VA 22191. A reception will follow the service at Spring Hill Community Association Clubhouse, 8946 Yellow Daisy Place, Lorton,VA 22079.In lieu of flowers, the Donahue family kindly request donations be made to the Alzheimer''s Association www.alz.org
