Peter Howe Obituary

Died Wednesday, June 19, 2024. He is survived by his wife Karen, and daughters Allison and Lisa. Peter, the third of six children, was an extraordinary caregiver for his family, particularly his brother Hank and more recently for his sister Elizabeth. He was a pillar of strength and compassion within his Buddhist community. He attended Montgomery Blair High School and received his bachelor's degree from University of MD College Park. In college, he was an athlete and part of the school's Gymkana Troupe. In his leisure time he found joy in photography, running, and golf.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the SGI Buddhist Community Center, 3417 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20007. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity at https://www.habitatchesapeake.org/donate/

Pete was my oldest friend, dating back to high school wrestling. Through all the years that passed, he was always the nicest, kindest, most helpful person I've ever known. My life will forever be incomplete without him.
He always looked after other people without hesitation. He was there for me when I needed him. He even looked out for my children when they were looking for a soccer team. Whatever, Pete was there.
I am hurting without him, so I know Karen and his daughters must be in much greater pain for their loss. Everyone who knew Pete is now suffering from a great loss.
I will miss Pete until I draw my own last breath.
All the best to the Howe family.
