Richard Krach Obituary

1932-2024
Richard Krach of Gainesville, Virginia passed away peacefully at the UVA Prince William Medical Center on December 4, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mercedes (Dolly) and two daughters, Denise (Paul) Fayle, of Williamsburg; and Lisa (Carmen) Porreca of Woodstock, GA; two Grandsons, Vincent (Sarah) Fayle and Andrew (Emily) Porreca; and four great grand children, Eve, Atlas, Wyatt, Lily. He is also survived by his sister Janet Burnweit of Rehoboth Beach, DE.

He was born in DuBois, PA on August 16, 1932. He was the son late of F.J. (Sam) Krach and Vera Mae (Bogle). He graduated from DuBois High School.

He spent a long and successful career in the swimming pool industry. He started with National Construction Co., then co-owner of Lewis Aquatech. Highlight was building the pool for President Ford at the White House in 1975. In 1983 was President of the National Swimming Pool Institute. Started Sundek of Washington in 1987 and retired in 2014.

He enjoyed family, golf, and travel. He was a licensed pilot and flew recreationally.

Interment will be at a later date at Morningside Cemetary in DuBois, PA.
