COL. ROBERT G. TRAHAN  1923 - 2013  
Col. Robert G. "Bob" Trahan, US Army (Ret.), aged 90, passed away in Silver Spring, Maryland, on October 4, 2013. He was born 1923 in Winslow, Maine. Bob was a career military man with a combined 33 years in the service, first as an airplane mechanic and later as a clinical chemist. He managed the clinical laboratories at Fort Meade and Walter Reed Hospitals before retiring in 1981, having received many commendations and awards, including the Legion of Merit.Survivors include seven children, Debra-Ann Bostick, Jeanne Faubell, Kathleen Trahan, Stephanie Rody, Cecilia Trahan, Clare Grasso, and James Trahan; 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lucien Trahan of Portland, Maine. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Constance Choate Trahan, and his eldest son, David G. Trahan.A memorial service will be held at the Riderwood Village Chapel, Silver Spring, MD, on Sunday, November 3, at 1 p.m. Inurnment will occur at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Col. Trahan's honor to either the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256, or to the Riderwood Benevolent Care Fund, Riderwood Philanthropy Department, 3110 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
