I remember his spontaneous laugh and wonderful smile, his exhibit at the Civic Center in downtown Silver Spring, his gracious willingness to photograph our garden club ladies. Such a wonderful talent. A terrific neighbor and he will be missed.

Dear Barbara,

Our deepest condolences go out to you and your family. In my handful of curbside conversations with Ron, outside of Ben and Erica's house, I was able to immediately sense the awesomeness that embodied him. Below are a few thoughts on the Ron I began to know...

* Ron loved his family and was always focused on creating amazing memories with them.

* Ron was a people person. He had a way about him - making folks feel at ease and comfortable.

*Ron was a competitor - he was ready to fight for anything he believed in and for the people he loved.

*That smile - I can imagine that reassuring smile helped your family get through some tough moments over the years. You know, that smile that could light up a room, diffuse a situation, or offer encouragement that tomorrow will be a better day.

I really enjoyed my conversations with your husband and only wish, for the sake of all, those who knew him and those who did not, that he was still here, as he made those around him better.

Lastly, when I think about Ron - I think about, Ben. What a fine young man he has become. In reflection, I absolutely see some of the amazing attributes your husband had, live on inside Ben. It will be a pleasure to see him carry on the spirit and legacy of his Dad as he continues down his own path of success, in family, career and life.

Dear Barbara, I loved, admired and enjoyed every moment that I spent with you and Ron. We created so many priceless memories when I lived in Maryland and reconnecting the past few years has tremendously blessed my heart. I know you are surrounded by so many great friends and I wish you much comfort and love always.
