RUTH PAULI
Passed peacefully with her children by her side on July 6, 2017. Her husband of 61 years, Denzil Pauli, passed on November 29, 2011. Ruth is survived by her sons, Andrew and James, their wives, Kanokwan and Dana, grandchildren, Benjamin, Phoenix, Allison, and Jennifer, and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Zachary, Christina and Jessica.In 1976, after raising her two sons, she earned her PhD in English from the University of Maryland. She loved teaching English to students from around the world at various universities in the DC area. She was Chairwoman of the English Department at Southeastern University and taught at the University of Maryland.Ruth was a long-time, active member of organizations that supported the educational and professional growth of women including the PEO (68 years) and the AAUW. Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m., July 18, 2017 at Ebinger Chapel, Wilson Health Care Center, Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg MD. Contributions may be made in the memory of Ruth Pauli to PEO Scholar Awards, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312. Memories and Directions:www.InterFaithFunerals.com
