Sandra Carroll Obituary

Sandra Micaela Carroll, wants you to know that while she preferred to have been "famous" when she died on February 28, 2025, ultimately, she was contented with her life. She traveled around the world, retired with a great pension, became a bridge Life Master at a fast pace, lived in a beautiful house backing to woods and ate at 5-star restaurants. But best of all she had loving family (her brother Rod Carroll, niece Emma Carroll, and cousin Nancy Fell), and fortunate to have fabulous friends and bridge partners who ultimately sustained her happiness.

Okay. Sandra was semi-famous, having created the official Stylebook for the U.S. Postal Service, having one of her photos hang in the Smithsonian, helping lead the Postal Service's marketing fight against UPS during its strike years ago, and having made the "1996 Quote of the Year" in Newsweek magazine. As a public relations expert she talked regularly with top television and news reporters about the Postal Service.

Despite three marriages that fell short, she rebounded back without needing a new man in her life. No one was more surprised than Sandra that she reached the ripe old age of 71 before succumbing to the coronavirus. Frankly, she thought she would die before 40, as Sandra's teachers told her food and water would be gone by the year 2000, and of course there was always the "bomb."

Sandra's final message to her friends and family, "I love you all."
