OF Alexandria, VA, on February 2, 2002. Employed by Giant Food Corp. of Landover, MD, he was a 1971 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and attended the University of Maryland. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Keitha Chapla of Hagerstown, MD; his fiancee, Julia Stevenson of Alexandria, VA; a brother, Timothy M. Chapla of Falling Waters, WV, and two nephews, Levi and Cody of Waycross, GA. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services were held privately.
