MANDELL STEVE ALLEN MANDELL On Tuesday, April 15, 2008, at his residence. Steve Allen Mandell of Arlington, VA. Beloved husband of Eileen Mandell; father of Joshua Mandell and his wife, Ivy, and Adam and Michael Mandell; brother of Herbert (Peggy), Paul (Cookie) and Ruthann Mandell; grandfather of Cooper and Harrison Mandell. Funeral services at Temple Rodef Shalom, 2100 Westmoreland Street, Falls Church, VA on Thursday, April 17 at 10:30 a.m. Interment King David Memorial Gardens. The family requests contributions be made to American ORT (ortamerica.org) or Steve A. Mandell Entrepreneurship in Bio/IT Fund, c/o Pepper Hamilton LLP, Attention William Bethune, 600 14th St., NW, Washington, DC 20005-2004.

I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. Even in the few years I've had the pleasure to know him through the BioIT Coalition, Steve's passionate enthusiasm, his love of and sincere appreciation for people, and his hard work on behalf of what he believed in was an inspiration. I can't imagine how the loss must feel to his family and coworkers who've known and loved him for many years.
Eileen, my heart goes out especially to you and your children in the loss of your husband and father. My prayers are with you now.

Steve was an inspiration, along with Eileen from day one when I came to Pepper Hamilton. He taught me the meaning of perfectionism. He inspired me, through his leadership, to be dedicated to the cause of the BIO IT Coalition. Working with them on Tomorrow' Business was not only interesting but fun. I enjoyed his wit and his wisdom. He was a pleasure to work with, as he had a keen sense of humor and a very friendly, outgoing demeanor. He treated everyone with the same courtesy and consideration, whether it was a staff member, fellow attorney or a client. I am grateful to have known and worked with him. His inspiration lives on.
My heart goes out to Eileen, Adam, Michael, Josh, Ivy, Cooper, Harrison and all of Steve's family.
