SUSAN HEINBAUGH Obituary

HEINBAUGH SUSAN H. HEINBAUGH (Age 59) Of Ferrum, a blessing and friend to all, on Sunday morning, finished her two and half year battle with cancer forever and went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on February 28, 2016. Susan was preceded in death by her Grandma Nealie Adeline Young, her father Garland Harris, her mother Nealie Young Harris, her sister Maureen Ann Harris. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Jeff Heinbaugh; their blessing from God daughter, Amanda Renee Heinbaugh; one brother, Mack Harris, his wife Sarah, and their daughter Rachel, many friends, former co-workers, homeschooled family, her church family at Twin Oaks Baptist of Ferrum. Susan always had that "smile" that would be there on her face even during her struggles of life. She lived for the glory of the Lord most of her adult life. Susan was a committed, faithful loving wife, best friend, sister in Christ, soul mate to her husband Jeff. She was a loving, Godly mother to their daughter, Amanda. She was a faithful daughter to her father and mother and great sister to her family. Susan loved her many cats, dogs, horses over the years that we kept or fostered. Susan worked for the Navy, and a defense contractor in Washington DC for many years as an administrative assistant, she homeschooled Amanda and other children during the last 19 years. Susan loved and cherished God''s gift called children. She loved to work in the "dirt" as Susan was an avid gardener, loved flowers, sewing, crocheting, painting and drawing. She was a best friend, Godly woman to all who crossed her life path, Susan gave to all, She always put others first, she walked and talked the life of a true Christian woman, she will be missed here on earth. A celebration of life/visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 between 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Home Rocky Mount, VA, and the funeral services on Friday March 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Flora Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Ferrum, VA. Susan would desire that everyone live their life with purpose! One of her favorite verses is: Philippians 4:6-7 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the two things she was very much involved in, UNC Lineberger Cancer Research Division (metastatic breast cancer) Chapel Hill, NC and Twin Oaks Baptist building fund-2313 Henry Rd.
