I want to borrow some worthy words from Ralph Waldo Emerson, words which capture the power of Tim--as a generous, brilliant and supportive soul:
"The reward for a job well done is to have done it."
and
"Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

My sincere condolences for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted " and "comforts all who mourn", sustain your family during this challenging time. Isaiah 61:1,2.

Tim, I remember so well, as your teacher and later friend, your enthusiasm for life, for poetry, and for helping others. You found your interest and talent early at Browne & Nichols, and you surely "ran with it," as the saying goes, not only writing your own poetry, but also supporting poetry at Williams, and, clearly, becoming a legendary teacher, mentor, and inspiration at Maret. I enjoyed sharing poems with you, skiing with you, talking with you, and being your guest on Cape Cod, which you loved. Your delight in living will stay with me always. You have lived a valuable life on this planet. I think of these lines from the poet Stephen Spender: "Born of the sun they traveled a short while towards the sun/And left the vivid air signed with their honour." May you rest in peace.
