Timothy Peter Hagan
Died peacefully at home on April 27, 2021 of pancreatic cancer in the care of Goodwin House Hospice and his family. Born in Washington, DC in 1942 to Robert and Dorothy Hagan, Tim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Page Proctor Hagan, his three children and their spouses, Carey Ellen Hagan (Philip Busch), Emily Hagan Gilday (John) and Dr. Robert Stewart Hagan (Leah C. Blasiak) and seven grandchildren, Peter Busch, Daniel, Molly, Clare and Mark Gilday and Michael and Matthew Hagan. He also leaves his brother, Stephen of Orlando, WV., his brother-in-law, Ernest W. Proctor, his sisters-in-law, Sarah Braman and Mary Fedewa (Ben) and many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends. Near the end, there was a queue of people who wanted a last word with him. Tim graduated from Washington-Lee High School, Dartmouth College and the Darden School of the University of Virginia. Thereafter he was a lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps, US Army and did financial work at Standard & Poor's Corporation, Fannie Mae, The Rushmore Group of Mutual Funds, Rydex Funds and Rafferty Asset Management.Tim and his family are grateful to the doctors and staff at Johns Hopkins and Sibley Hospitals for their care and expertise and to friends near and far and the congregation of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda for their prayers, gifts of food, books and companionship in his two plus years with pancreatic cancer.Due to the pandemic, a graveside service was held at St. George's Chapel Cemetery, Harbeson, Delaware near Rehoboth Beach where they had spent part of every summer. A memorial service may be held at a later date. We remember him with joy.
