Diane,

I wanted to extend my sympathy on the loss of your husband. Kathy said to me he reminded her of our Uncle Tom McGrath in many ways. I will keep you in my prayers.

Diane,
I was sadden and socked to learn that your beloved Tommy has passed away.
I was catching up on my reading and saw the notice in Post and I immediately thought of your beautiful wedding day. The both of you were glowing and the happiness and joy that filled the chapel was felt by all in attendance. As a new bride, you laughed and giggled like a school girl and everyone could see it was the happiest day of your lives. Even though we lost touch over the years, I wanted you to know my prayers are with you and your son. I have found comfort from the following poem in my time of loss and I hope it helps to confort you too. Parting: under one master, floating in the air, on the way back to the peaks, this parting may be the last in this life, but in your dreams and in deep thought, we will meet often. May Tommy rest eternally in the peaks.

I was saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Mack. I worked for Tourmobile many years ago and my employment there was the beginning of a successful career in the hospitality industry. I attribute part of my success to Mr. Mack. My prayers are with his family.

Manus Jack Fish introduced me to Tommy Mack way back in the day, Tom had just won another long time contract with the National Park Service. Mr. Fish came to Diplomat Limousine Service after he retired from the NPS. We where unable to bid on those NPS contracts, Mr Fish did not want to have any conflicts with him just leaving NPS. At first I was upset at not being able to go after the NPS work. As I got to know Tom and understand how the NPS works, I could see that the relationship with Tom and the NPS was one that no one could beat. Tom would out perform and out politic anybody that got in the way. Including me. Tom gave us our congrats on winning the Washington Flyer Limo contract at Dulles and National in 1987. After we crashed and burn in 1998 Tom was nice enough to buy some of old equipment so we could start over again with U.S. Trans Logistics, Inc. Tom helped me rise out of ashes like the Phoenix. Tommy will be very much missed. I do not know the Family I just wanted to let them know how much of a help Tommy was in keeping another small Black family business
alive.

I met Mr. Mack probably when I was 12 or 13 years old when my older sister Phyllis (who is also deceased) began working there a long time ago!

While Tom was a quiet and reserved person, his presence was always felt. He was (and will always) remain a member my family.

My prayers are with his son and mother and his wife.

Tom Mack was a friend of over thirty years. A friend in the real, old fashioned sense. I mourn his passing for so many reasons, but most importantly, because there was no one like him and will not be again in my life.

His smooth, quiet style was a hallmark of his personalty, regardless of his various pressures in business. He was a flawless human being.

Tom Mack was a gentleman and an outstanding businessman. He cared about his employees and his customers. He always wanted to do what was right and fair. I enjoyed working with him in a professional capacity and relaxing with him on the golf course. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of working with Tom for many years when I served as Executive Director of the National Park Hospitality Association (NPHA). He was a consummate professional and a warm and caring person. He did many good things for the association and the industry. He will be very much missed.

Tom was a gentle soul in a tall, lean frame, an astute businessman who made social justice a reality everyday at his successful Tourmobile and with leaders in Washington, D.C. He gave me my first job at Universal Studios Tour 40 years ago, stayed a friend and shared his philosophy of life. We will remember and learn from him always. Our sincere condolences to Diane and Adam especially.

We have lost one of the great visionaries of our time. Tom Mack had an idea (for Tourmobile) and made it a reality. Not many of us can do that. I was a tour guide years ago while a student at Howard University. My sister had been a tour guide there a few years before me. We were born and raised in Washington, DC and young black Americans. I learned so much about myself, Washington, D.C. and the World from my time at Tourmobile. I will never forget it or Tom Mack. May he rest in peace.
