A friend of mine told me once that we do not pick our friends. Friends pick you. I am happy and blessed to be counted among those Bart called "friend."

Bart was truly one of a kind. He moved mountains in spite of the "system" and convinced many of us that there really was a "better way". His work in the original Autodin program put him on the map.

Patrick, thank you for the e-mail advising me of your Father's passing. He was a "kindred spirit" to me. I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

A man with a vision, Bart will be sorely missed. He left us with many fond memories. My deepest sympathies to his wife and family: he cared so much about them.

LEGENDARY MAN WAS HE

Patrick, your call last night was the saddest moment for me and my family. You and your sisters have lost a father, Rosaleen lost a husband and life friend, and I too have lost a good friend, a legend, and a father figure that taught me how to lead with a passion. Somehow Bart's management methodologies on DOD and Government efficiencies should be placed in books for others to adhere too. Great man!

To the family with deepest sympathies and my heart is heavy with the loss of Bart. He was my boss for so many years and more important, he was a true and dear friend. I'm sure he's resting now in peace with our heavenly father.
