Warren Rowlands Obituary

ROWLANDS, WARREN L.

On Sunday, August 14, 2005, WARREN L. ROWLANDS of Annandale, VA died at his home with his loving wife by his side after battling liver cancer resulting from hemachromotosis. He was born December 6, 1930 in Scranton, PA and is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janet Rowlands; daughter, Becky Dooley and her husband, John of Blue Ridge, VA; daughter, Susan Bonvouloir and her husband, Damian of Vienna, VA; son, W. Drew Rowlands and his wife, Kim of Carlsbad, CA. He was a loving grandfather of Matt and Loren Dooley, Luc Bonvouloir, Zach and Carlisle Rowlands. Warren was a NROTC graduate of the University of South Carolina and served in the U.S. Navy as a gunnery office aboard the USS Macon. In 1961, he was appointed Special Agent in the FBI, where he served in the Washington Field Office until his retirement in 1985. Warren was an active member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church, the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia and the Annandale Chamber of Commerce. He was a devoted volunteer of the Annandale High School Athletic Department. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 1 p.m. at FAIRFAX MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 9902 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA, 22032. Memorial contributions may be made to any of the above organizations in his name.

Susie, Though I never met your dad, I remember how important he was to you. You passed up several career opportunities at AMS to stay close to your family and I remember how important it was for you to continue to see your Dad and Mom regularly.
