Born in West Orange, NJ, June 17, 1943, son of Warren E. and Helen Stickle, Jr.; and brother of Jerry, died at home on September 25, 2007. He was married for 37 years to Marilyn; and was the proud father of Chelsea. He lived a full life in which his diversity of talents were expressed and his love of adventure spanned six continents, most recently Asia. He received his Ph.D. in History from Georgetown University in 1971 and taught at Purdue University for six years. He helped elect his friend and colleague, Floyd Fithian, to Congress from Indiana's second district, where he served from 1975 to 1981. He published three edited books during his tenure at Purdue along with more than fifty articles in history, business and trade magazines. He served as President of the Chemical Producers and Distributors Association from 1987 to 2006 and as President Emeritus until his death. He was a consultant for the ISSA (20 years), he taught at Georgetown University, he worked as a lobbyist for the CSMA (6 years) and he was a Real Estate Agent (29 years). He traveled the world extensively representing CPDA and speaking at conferences for NPRIS, ASTM, ISSA, Western and Southern Crop Association, at adjuvant conferences, and workshops in Eastern Caribbean countries. He was honored in Shanghai in March for his work on pesticide issues and his knowledge of the emerging global economy. He was a man of unusual and varied gifts including political analysis, fundraising, and negotiation. He impacted the lives of many people. He loved blackberry pies. He is loved deeply. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA. Burial will be at National Memorial Park, 7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA.

Dear Marilyn and Chelsea,
On behalf of the National Pesticide Information Retrieval System (NPIRS) at Purdue University, I would like to express our deepest sympathy in your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.
Warren served as a member of the NPIRS Advisory Council for over 20 years and made many significant contributions to the growth and development of NPIRS. Warren possessed a wealth of knowledge regarding FIFRA and pesticide regulatory affairs. He was always first to offer suggestions on new projects and ways to help industry move ahead in the area of technology. Not only was he a valued council member, but he was a good friend and he will be dearly missed.

Dear Marilyn and Chelsea,
We remember Warren always enjoying entertaining your guests and keeping the conversation flowing either during the preparation or after dinner. We were fortunate to both have men that loved to cook and enjoyed the kudos that followed. Your family and friends will be praying for you in the days, weeks and months to come. Please keep in touch if there is anything that you need.
Love,
Cousin Gwen

Marilyn and Chelsea,
I didn't know the two of you personally but I did know and work with your husband and father at CSPA (formerly CSMA). You both have my sincere sympathy. Warren's face and contributions truly will be missed at meetings held at the CSPA offices.
