Rest in Peace Bill...

My memories of Bill fall back to when I was just a young girl. While I have endless memories, one thing that comes to mind are all the never ending hours they would spend on the phone.. countless I tell you! :-)....the barbeques, (drinks!)parties, etc. To me as a child, Bill had to of been "good people" because my dad didnt invest time with anyone unless that be the case. As an adult I grew to fully understand that Bill was one of my fathers closest and dearest friends. No matter what, Bill was always there. He was a great friend to my father and even after his passing, he even guided me a time or two in discussing which vehicle I would buy next or even helping me to pass along my Dad's things- sometimes to even him, which I know was hard for him. :-( I was very saddend to hear of his passing and feel horrible. Like my Dad, he certainly was "one of a kind". I send my deepest sympathy to Phyllis (and family) and pray that in time the days will take away the pain. I find comfort in knowing Dad and Bill are now in heaven looking down, --probably laughing, or better yet, making fun of us (this wouldn't surprise me), but nevertheless, they are together. I hope you all find comfort in the simpliest things brought forth each day. Peace to all of you.

Bill Darrough improved the lives of many young Alexandria men as a Scout leader for many years at the Del Ray Methodist Church, Troop 139. My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. Bill was one of the best men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. His spirity lives on in the hearts and minds of those whose lives he touched.

Rest in Peace Bill. You were my grandfather's best friend and the person that introduced me into the BSA, the OA, and what it meant to be an Eagle Scout. God Speed Bill.

Bill Darrough was one of the kindest, caring, fun-loving persons that I had the honor of knowing. He was a wonderful husband and father. I only wish I could have known him better. His daughter, Mary and my daughter, Tina became friends in elementary school. He and Phyllis always made us feel welcome in their beautiful home. My deepest sympathy to Bill's wonderful family. Sincerely, Cathy Schwab

The Lord has taken a good man to become an angel with wings. God speed Bill, you will be missed here on earth. But you left a legacy few men can match.
