WILLIAM MAYO "Billy"
On June 4, 2019, loving son of Barbara Mayo and the late William H. Mayo; brother of Donna Mayo. He is also survived by nephews Nigel and Myles Christian; great-niece Kaya Christian; aunts Doris Fuller, Audrey and Betty Mayo; uncles Floyd and Melvin Holloway, Vernon, Melvin (Veronica) and Ronald Mayo; and a host of other relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17 from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. at Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, 2616 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., SE. Bill and I were in the same platoon at Camp Upshur when we first joined the Marines, and then in the same platoon the next year at the main Quantico base. We reconnected a few years later in Okinawa. He had an old car that we drove around the island and we had some riotous good times. He was an excellent leader and a fine comrade. God bless you Bill, Semper Fi.

I miss my friend. Theres a void in my life. The last time I saw him in spring of 2014 in Inglewood,CA, he was doing well in his career and had a great roommate. Gone too soon. RIP

We will forever remember our dear Billy who was an amazing quarterback, passionate actor, loyal friend, a man's man, a faithful veteran, and an all around good guy. His smile could warm a heart and brighten any day. May God grant you, his family, the peace which surpasses all understanding and the comfort of knowing His promise of eternal life and fellowship with Him through His precious Son Jesus the Christ.
