Wayne Herold Obituary

Watertown, WI - Wayne L. Herold, 83, passed away on August 8, 2025.

A celebration of life will be held at Jefferson Speedway at a later date. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Watertown is serving the family. Online condolences may be left at www.HafemeisterFH.com.

Wayne Lee Herold was born on August 31, 1941 in Watertown, WI, son of Herbert and Edna (Evans) Herold. On January 8, 1966 he married the former Beverly Nehls at St. Henry's Church. Wayne worked as a long haul trucker.

Wayne loved racing and was a race car driver for 11 years. He also enjoyed antique tractors and was a member of the Dodge County Antique Power Club Inc.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Beverly Herold; two daughters, Tina (John) Remsik of Watertown and Tawny (Randy Dunn) Herold of Jefferson; special friend, Jeff Schueller; granddaughter, Rianne (Sebastian Schultz) Remsik; sisters-in-law, Patricia Buh-Herold of Hawthorne, CA, Carol Meyers of Watertown, Patricia Schulte Nehls of Watertown, Barb (Dave) Kesler of Watertown, and Sandi Michaelis Nehls of Watertown; as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edna Herold; siblings, Daniel Herold, Glenn Herold, Dorothy (Sue) Herold; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Clarence and Helen Nehls; brothers-in-law, Al Meyers, Ralph Nehls, and Jim Nehls; and sister-in-law, Mary Herold.
