Betty Reid Obituary

Betty Jean Reid
July 29, 1933 - June 12, 2025
Betty Jean Reid, 91, of Bainbridge Island, Washington, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025. She was born July 29, 1933, in Wenatchee, Washington, to John and Minnie.
For over five decades, Betty worked in the medical industry, where her dedication and kindness touched many lives. A licensed private pilot for more than 500 hours as pilot in command, she loved adventure and treasured summers at the family's lake house on Lake Chelan. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, crabbing, clamming, and oystering, and especially raising chickens. Betty was known for her cooking, often using fresh vegetables and eggs from her own garden, and for sharing her knowledge of canning and preserving food.
She is survived by her husband, Norman; sons Brian, Kenneth, Bradley, and Steven; and adopted daughter Shauna; grandchildren Madison, Sierra, David, and Marisa. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Minnie, and brothers Floyd and Robert.
A memorial service will be held October 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wenatchee, Washington.
