Blake Silliman Obituary

Blake Silliman
December 6, 2002 - August 7, 2025
Blake Anthony-Lane Silliman was born on December 6, 2002, in Wenatchee, WA, and passed away at home on August 7, 2025, at the age of 22. Though his years were far too few, if we measure a life not in time but in the love and joy he gave to others, his life was full and long.
Blake came into this world as joyful and sweet as he was stubborn. He was the first boy, preceded by his big sisters, Aja and Gabbie, who loved, cared for, and harassed him as only siblings can. During his elementary years in Entiat, Blake spent much of his time close to his grandparents, Steve and Mary Silliman. He was described by his teachers and other adults as sensitive, kind to others, and honest. These are the traits he carried with him when he moved to Lake Stevens during his middle school years. Following in his father's footsteps, he deepened his love for basketball. He also developed lasting bonds with the Jellisons, Caudills, and Alex Petrakopoulos. Blake moved back to complete his public schooling at Eastmont High School and graduated on June 4th, 2021. After high school, Blake began his college career with a couple of shorter stints at Grand Canyon University, AZ, and Washington State University, where he even joined a fraternity. He was enrolled for fall 2025 at Wenatchee Valley College to pursue a degree in business.
All those who knew Blake loved being around him and in his presence. He loved coaching youth sports and staying active outdoors, enjoying activities like hiking, running, biking, golf, and water sports. He was funny, loving, kind, respectful, and overwhelmingly charismatic. He lit up a room and gave all his love and energy to those around him. His sisters each held a special place in his heart: Aja, who was his mother figure; Gabbie, who always believed the best in him while keeping him accountable; and Karmyn, whom he longed to protect and care for. He was so proud of who his father had become these last few years, and they had become best friends, talking on the phone almost daily. Finally, his deep love for his girlfriend and partner, Isabelle, who was there with him through his struggles and triumphs.
Even with all the light and joy Blake brought to the world, he struggled behind closed doors. Behind his beautiful smile and bright eyes, he carried a heaviness from past traumas that he could not lift. Too many men continue to suffer silently in a world that often discourages the expression of emotions. Please honor Blake's memory by checking in on those you love, even the ones who seem to light up every room.
Blake Silliman is survived by his father, Aaron Nicholas Silliman; siblings, Aja Patterson, Gabbrielle Silliman (Jose Morelos), and Karmyn Silliman; nieces and nephews, Addilyn Morelos, Luca Morelos, and Wrenlee Patterson; and grandparents, Steve and Mary Silliman, Tammy Patterson, and Rose Marie Silliman. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jim Patterson, and his great-grandfather, Gerald (Bill) Silliman.
A private family memorial will take place followed by a celebration of Blake's life starting at 6 p.m. at the Highlander Golf Course on Friday, August 22.
