Robert Harrington Obituary
Robert Harrington
July 26, 1940 - August 15, 2025
Robert Wayne Harrington, age 85, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. He was born on July 26, 1940, in Bellingham, Washington, to Richard and Lois Harrington. In 1947, Rob's family moved to Wenatchee, where he attended local schools and made many lifelong friends. As a teenager, he worked at the local bowling alley setting pins-memories he fondly recalled.
In 1960, Rob married Beth Clayton, his lifelong partner. They moved to Entiat in 1965, where they raised their family and lived for 63 years before moving to Wenatchee in 2023. Robert was a devoted father to Denise Ekemuhr (Peder), Amy Smith (John), and the late Darla Harrington. Rob held various jobs before beginning his nearly 30-year career at Cedergeen, later known as Dalgety Foods and Simplot, where he worked as a mechanic. He was known for his hard work and reliability. He took pride in the fact that he only used two sick days in 30 years.
Rob was an avid sports fan who not only loved watching games but also found great joy in playing and coaching men's softball, as well as coaching his daughters' softball teams. A devoted father and grandfather, he was their biggest fan-always a familiar face in the stands, whether at the gym or on the field. He cherished every opportunity to cheer them on. A lifelong supporter of the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners, he remained a loyal fan through every season. He rarely missed a televised game, and if it wasn't on TV, you could find him sitting in the car listening to it on the radio. Later in life he even owned a sporting goods store to share his passion with others.
Rob had a love for both cars and animals, and his life was filled with many of each. Those who knew him can imagine the joyful reunion as he was welcomed by many at the Rainbow Bridge.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Harrington; daughters Denise and Amy; grandchildren Amber Harrington (Pete), Melissa Williams (Josh), Brandy Elmes, and Chase and Drew Burleson; and five great-grand daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Darla, and his loyal bulldog, Cruiser, who always brought him joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
