Donald Myers Obituary

Donald "Wayne" Myers, 84 of Auburn, slipped into the arms of Jesus while he slept on Monday, August 25, 2025. He was born on July 12, 1941 in Waterloo to Donald R. and Melba "Addie" (Burns) Myers. He was a 1959 graduate of Waterloo High School. Wayne married Phyllis C. Warstler on September 10, 1961 in rural Butler. She resides in Auburn. Starting in 1959, Wayne worked for Crane Edmund in Butler for several years before going to work for Engineered Materials in Butler for 40 years. He then worked for Trident Industries in Hicksville, Ohio for five years before retiring in 2006. Wayne was an active member of the Norris Chapel Church where he taught Sunday school, served as the church board president and served on several church committees over the years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and woodworking. Most important to Wayne was spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with and attending the activities of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: His wife of 64 years, Phyllis Myers of Auburn. Son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Lisa Myers of Auburn. Son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Lori Myers of Auburn. Daughter, Dawn Miller of Auburn. Six grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Blake Fuller, Blake and Khylei Myers, Makenzie and Colton Cantrell, Whitney Myers, Nick and Kelsey Martin and Olivia Martin and her fiancé, Steve Overy. Three step grandchildren, Colton Miller, Ashton Huff and Meghann Voight. Ten great grandchildren, Avery Fuller, Colby Fuller, Henry Myers, Luke Martin, Makenna Martin, Sutton Huff, Payton Huff, Boston Overy, Brynlee Voight and Hadlee Voight. Sister and brother-in-law, Donna Jean and Carl Casebere of Butler. Sister-in-law, Jan Myers of Auburn. Sister-in-law, Shirley Myers of Crystal River, Florida. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Myers and Glen Myers and son-in-law, Roger Miller. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Norris Chapel Church, 4793 CR 40A in Auburn. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the church with Pastor Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow the memorial service at the Waterloo Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Wayne to the Norris Chapel Church and Riley Children's Hospital in care of the Riley Children's Foundation, PO Box 3356 Indianapolis, Indiana 46206-3356.
