Juanita Gasper Obituary
Juanita I. Gasper, 82, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne with her family at her side.
She was born April 21, 1943, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Otto L. and Cleo Lucille (Lietch) Harter.
As a young adult, Juanita started her employment in retail working at S.S. Kresge Shoe Store in Fort Wayne. While raising her three children, she spent most of her career working at International Harvester in Fort Wayne and retired from Decatur Casting.
She was a longtime member of the Decatur Church of God. Since moving to Fort Wayne, she attended Grace Point Church of the Nazarene.
She was devoted to her church and her family. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her companion Pete, until his death.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa M. (Cindy) Pollock of Indianapolis and Teresa R. Reber of New Haven; a son, William M. Gasper, II of Harrodsburg, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Nicole McDougall, Brittany (Nic) Goldsberry, Jena (Jaelen) Brewer, Jessica (John) Pollock, Logan (Maggie) Pollock, and Mary Jo (Byron) Tallent; 18 great-grandchildren, Hudson Darnell, Violet Zorica, Boston Everett, Theo Goldsberry, Vivienne Goldsberry, Marcus Brewer, Gianna Brewer, Skylynne Sharp, Kyla Gilbert, Ryder Gilbert, Emmy Gilbert, Landon Pollock, Emmeline Pollock, Henry Pollock, Haven Tallent, Autumn Marie Passmore, Zayden Tallent, and Aiden Dale Passmore; a sister, Pamela Sue Reed of Fort Wayne; and a brother, Larry (Judy) Harter of Gas City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her longtime companion, Kenneth Richard "Pete" Peterson; a grandson-in-law, Nic Goldsberry; two sisters, Kathlyne Nodine and Barbara Wilcox; and five brothers, Franklin Lee "Bud" Harter, Alvin Eugene "Gene" Harter, John A. Harter, James Alan Harter, and Robert Harter.
Visitation is Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Grace Point Church of the Nazarene, 8611 Mayhew Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with Pastor Rex Person officiating.
Funeral services will also be on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery at the corner of Carroll Road and US Highway 33 near Churubusco.
Preferred memorials are to Grace Point Church of the Nazarene.
