Albert E. Nordmark

Albert Edward Nordmark, 77, of Appenzell, passed away Sunday evening, January 5, 2025, while under hospice care in his home. He was the husband of Charleen G. (Hewlings) Nordmark with whom he shared 29 years of marriage. Born on November 15, 1947 at Rosenkrans Hospital in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of late Oliver E. and Jean E. (Dickisson) Nordmark and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970 and was employed as a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service for 33 years. After retirement he worked at the front desk for Precision Engine and was a hall monitor for the Pocono Mountain School District. Albert was a lifetime member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company; and a member of the Thursday Night Mixed Golf League and Pocono Medical Center Bowling League. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing and hunting with his brother. In addition to his wife, surviving are four children, Scott A. Nordmark and partner Jen Yacavimo of Gilbertsville, Laurie Rufe and husband Thomas of Zephyrhills, FL, William A. Aleckna, Jr. and wife Tracey of Canadensis, and Robyn C. Widdoss and husband John of Reeders; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth Crawley, William Crawley, Jr., Brig Rufe, Jacob Aleckna, Donald W. Widdoss, Jeffrey Aleckna, Daniel J. Widdoss, Beck Rufe, Madison Brown and Mackenzie Makosky; a brother, Theodore Nordmark and wife Diane of Quakertown; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Nordmark in 2018. As per Albert's request, the viewing and service will be private with burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Appenzell.
