Burton Smith Obituary

Burton Warren "Bert" Smith, Jr., of Boyertown, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at Pottstown Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Pottstown, Bert was the son of the late Burton Warren Smith, Sr. and Blodwyn Davis (Williams) Smith. He is lovingly remembered by his sisters Phyllis S. Patukas, wife of Peter, and Marilyn J. Fiorini, wife of Larry, his brother Mark T. Smith, husband of Beverly Pennypacker, one niece, five nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a wide circle of cousins. A graduate of Pottsgrove High School, Bert proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked in the construction industry and later transitioned to retail. Bert was known for his passion for flea markets and maintained stands at various locations throughout Berks County. He found joy in simple pleasures-attending high school sports events and fishing at Lake Ontelaunee, where he spent many peaceful hours. Arrangements are entrusted to Catagnus Funeral Home in Gilbertsville. Services will be private, held at the convenience of his family.

Burt attended my auctions for many many years. He always bought fishing rods and antique woodworking tools. We will greatly miss him, he was a very nice person to deal with. Rest in peace buddy.
