David McClain Obituary

David (Dave) Byron McClain, 75, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Herrmann) McClain. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Edwin and Ruth (Conrad) McClain. David was a graduate of Abington High School. He spent most of his career working in Logistics and Purchasing, first for the Hull Corporation of Hatboro for 27 years, and for Pelmor Labs of Newtown from which he retired. He enjoyed one year as a bus driver for elementary students at the Council Rock School District where he received many compliments from parents for the care he gave. David was active in his church, North and Southampton Reformed Church serving as a Deacon and Property Committee Chair. Dave was one of a kind, often described as incredibly patient, considerate, and kind. Dave was a true family man who enjoyed summers with his family in Ocean City or in the backyard by the pool with his children and grandchildren. His favorite things included the Philadelphia Phillies and traveling. He was very meticulous, often using those skills to help his children with their home projects. Some of Dave's fondest memories include attending Fantasy week with his son, traveling to Alaska with his family, and touring the United States in an RV with Jeanne for 4 ½ years. Dave spent his final years enjoying as much time as possible with his younger grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his children: Edythe Esposito (Dominick Jr). of Hamilton NJ, Allison Steinman (Jeffrey) of Glenmoore, PA; and Jeffrey McClain (Ashley Hilmes) of Boston MA; a brother: Donald McClain, and his wife Marjorie, of Doylestown; and grandchildren: Dominic III, Kenna, Macallan, Madison, and Chloe. A Celebration of His Life will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, at Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, 163 Main Street Pennsburg. Friends may visit from 9:30 AM until services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the church: St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, technology enhancement at 305 Delaware Road, Riegelsville, Pa 18077 OR to the Defeat MSA Alliance, 29924 Jefferson Avenue, Saint Clair Shores, Michigan 48082. Dear Jean and Family,

We are feeling lucky that we were able to get to know Dave through the Urbans. He was always warm and welcoming to the Panter´s of Tosa.

He seemed especially proud of his beautiful wife and family. He will be missed by many.

Sincerely,
Anne, Bill and All Panters

To all the McClain family, we are so sorry for your loss. Soon, the joy of your memories of such a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, family member, and friend will soften the grief we all feel today.
We have so many wonderful memories of times with Dave and Jeanne. Our trip to Alaska, attempts to play tennis, and many times together just relaxing or playing games with the boys that always felt more like family than just friends. Dave was always funny, kind, soft spoken, and affectionate. He was full of grace, tolerance, and acceptance. Dave, we can't help but smile when we think of you and you will be sorely missed.
Love to All, Dennis and Joanne Donohoe
