Jerry Henry Obituary

Jerry Henry Sr. 91, of East Stroudsburg, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday Morning March 19, at his home. He was the husband of Marjorie (Smith) Henry, they were married 37 years. Born July 29, 1933, in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late William Vincent and Mabel (Pugh) Henry. He was a resident of Monroe County for most of his lifetime. He was a proud Veteran of the United Sates Army, serving during the Korean War, and a lifetime member of the American Legion post 346. Jerry proved that he is a survivor after he battled and beat lung cancer. He was a collector of model trains and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. In his spare time, you could catch him in his workshop doing woodwork or rooting for his favorite baseball team. Jerry worked for Olympic Reconditioning for many years as well as Lishman Builders, always taking great pride in his work. In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by sons Jerry Henry Jr (wife Dawn), Jeffrey Henry (fiancé Claire), George Smith, Morgan Smith (wife Glenda), daughters Barbara Matthews (husband Marty), Dawn Smith (husband Shawn), and Lori Smith (husband Harry) along with many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jerry is proceeded in death by his brothers Clarence, William Jr, Robert, and Norman, his sisters Pearl, Mildred, and his sons Wesley and Wyatt. Jerry was loved greatly by many and will be missed dearly. A Korean War veteran has passed away today. Jerry, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow war veteran. America thanks you for your service to our country in the defense of freedom. The final volley has sounded and taps is about to sound ending a successful career as a nation´s defender. Farewell fellow veteran.
