Julia E. Roberts

Julia E. Robert, 93, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on December 7, 2024 at the Hershey Medical Center. She was the spouse of the late Thomas H. Roberts, Jr, who passed away on Sept. 5, 1999. Born in Red Jacket, WV, she was the daughter of the late Stephan and Julia (Opaski) Vagott. Originally from Red Jacket, WV, Julia and her family relocated to Trenton, NJ where she graduated from Trenton High School. She went on to be employed as a Terminal Computer Operator for the former Meridian Bank, working in Reading. She was an active member of the former Berean Baptist Church where she was a Deacon and Choir Member. She also served as the church Treasurer from 1979-1991, church clerk, and President of the Women's Class. Julia will be remembered for being an avid reader and her love of working in her garden. She was predeceased by her son: Raymond B. Roberts and 5 brothers. She is survived by her children: Thomas H. Roberts, III, husband of Jennifer of Sarasota, FL, Karen L. Miller, wife of Bruce of Rotonda West, FL, Michael S. Roberts, husband of Wendy of Port St. Richie, FL, John E. Roberts of Reading, and Patrick A. Roberts, partner of Marie of Covington, LA. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law: Carol Roberts of Fleetwood, Brother: Charles Vagott, Sisters: Goldie Garnich and Mary Vagott, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at Sanders Funeral Home, 1501 N. 11th Street, Reading, on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
