Kevin Wilson Obituary
Kevin Wade Wilson, a man of faith, family, and service, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of leadership, devotion, and joy. Born on August 16, 1964, in Richmond, VA, to Doris Annette (Ball) Wilson and the late Rev. Walker McCoy Wilson, Sr., Kevin was raised in the Baptist faith by his father, a pastor, and his life was marked by accomplishment, community involvement, and an unshakable commitment to God and family.
Kevin shared over seven wonderful years with his beloved wife, Edith Martinez Wilson, including three years of marriage. Their love was the center of his life, and together they built a bond grounded in devotion and joy.
A lifelong learner, Kevin was a proud graduate of Capella University, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in business management. His academic excellence was recognized by his induction into the Delta Mu Delta Honor Society on December 1, 2015, and his leadership extended to his involvement with the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), where he was inducted in October 2024 as a member of Sigma Alpha Pi.
Kevin served his country with honor in the United States Army, where he worked as both a Military Police Officer and a Personnel Records Specialist. His dedicated service earned him numerous decorations, including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and two Bronze Service Stars. Following his honorable discharge, Kevin continued serving in his community as a Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) in Bethlehem, working five years in Operations and Training before beginning a successful 20-year career with Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC. There, he thrived as a Corporate HR Compliance Specialist, earning recognition through multiple Employee of the Month honors and the Family Award in May 2022 for his contributions to a newly developed project.
Rooted in his Baptist faith, Kevin carried the values of service, humility, and compassion throughout his life. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, music, and dancing, and he cherished every moment with his wife, family, and friends.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Edith Martinez Wilson; his mother, Doris Annette Wilson; children Max Wilson, Kevin Wilson, Jr., Antonio Wilson, and Rachael McCurry; many loving grandchildren; his stepdaughters, Aracelis Alamo and Madeline Rodriguez; siblings Patrick Wilson (wife), Casey Wilson (Veronica), and Shelley Johnson (Melvin); and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Walker McCoy Wilson, Sr., and his brother, Walker McCoy Wilson, Jr.
Kevin's life was a beautiful tapestry of service, leadership, faith, and love. As we bid farewell to a man who embodied the spirit of dedication, we celebrate the indelible mark he left on the lives of all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire us, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all the lives he touched.
