Mario Marcozzi Obituary

Mario Marcozzi, a cherished husband, dad, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, at Saucon Valley Manor in Hellertown, PA, at the age of 87. Born on November 26, 1937, in Taramo, Italy, Mario was the son of the late Luigi Marcozzi and Amerinda DiEgidio. His journey brought him from the beautiful landscapes of Italy to the heart of Pennsylvania, where he established his life and legacy. Mario was blessed with a loving family, including his devoted wife Rosalie "Rose" (LoCicero) Marcozzi, his son Mario Marcozzi and his wife Lynn Cheddar of Bethlehem, and his daughter Marisa Mecchi and her husband Ray of Hellertown. He was a loving brother to his late sisters, Pina Varano and Pia LoCicero, and a cherished uncle to the late Maria Varano. His life was further enriched by the joy of his two nephews, Michael and Scott LoCicero. In his early years, Mario attended grade school in Italy, an experience that laid the foundation for his strong work ethic and dedication to family values. After moving to the United States, he continued to honor his heritage while embracing the opportunities his new home provided. Mario proudly served in the United States Army National Guard during the 1960s, a testament to his sense of duty and patriotism. His commitment to community was further evidenced by his previous membership with St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church in Hellertown. Professionally, Mario was a respected self-employed barber, a trade that allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life. He took great pride in his work, ensuring that each client left his chair not only looking their best but feeling heard and valued. In his earlier years, Mario was an active member of SVJAC's and the I Paesani singers and dancers of the Lehigh Valley. His love for music and dance was infectious, and he delighted in sharing his culture with others. Mario was also a member of the Lehigh Valley Institute of Italian Culture, where he continued to celebrate and promote the rich traditions of his Italian heritage. Beyond his community involvement, Mario had a passion for hobbies such as home building and gardening. His hands were rarely still, as he found joy in creating and nurturing both structures and plants. These hobbies were a reflection of his nurturing spirit, as he built a home filled with love and tended to his family with the same care and attention he gave to his gardens.
