Mary Matilda Ruff

Mary Matilda Ruff, a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence in Easton, Pennsylvania, on August 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 17, 1948, in Ukiah, California, and was the cherished daughter of the late Russell C. Dickson and Elaine Viola (Johnson) Dickson. Mary's passion for art and design was evident early in her life and led her to California State University, Sacramento, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Art Science. Mary's artistic talents and keen eye for beauty allowed her to excel as an interior designer, a career through which she brought comfort and elegance into the homes of countless families. For 15 years, Mary's professional life was intertwined with her role as a residential realtor for Daniel Gale, where she was admired for her integrity, dedication, and the sincere relationships she built with her clients. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Michael "Mike" L. Ruff; daughters, Kristine Ruff and husband Michael Tynan of Easton, Elizabeth Codling and husband Aldean Codling of Nazareth; and her sister, Patricia Karp and husband Harvey Karp of Beverly Hills, CA. Mary's role as a grandmother to Phoebe Tynan, Ezekiel "Zeke" Codling, and Benjamin Codling was one of her greatest joys. She cherished every moment spent with them. An active member of her community, Mary found pleasure in her associations with the Steel Club and her past membership at the Northampton Country Club. Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11 A.M. at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Burial will conclude services at Bethlehem Memorial Park, 1851 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA 18017. There will be no calling hours.
