Mary Wendland Obituary

Mary A. Wendland, 84, of Wilson Borough, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Gracedale. Born January 15, 1941, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late Herbert Vaugh and Anna (Gellock) Anthony. She retired from Keystone Food Products, Inc., where she worked for 22 years. Mary served as chairperson of the 1900 Block of Fairview Avenue Block Party for seven years. She loved to decorate her home for the holidays and make all sorts of crafts. Years ago, the family lived in Alpha, NJ, where she was involved in the P.T.A. at her children's school. She was a member of the former Memorial United Church of Christ Church, Wilson Borough, where she taught Sunday school. Surviving is her companion, Richard Volkert, of Wilson Borough; two sons, Kenneth Wendland and his wife Lisa, of Sunrise, FL and Kevin Wendland, of Wilson Borough; a daughter, Ann Marie Cruts and her husband Thomas, of Batavia, OH; three grandchildren, Brian Cruts and his wife Julie, Nicole Rosario and her husband Carlos and Joshua Bamfield; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Hunter and Hannah, and four step-daughters. She was predeceased by three brothers, Herbert, Robert and Donald Vaughn. Private arrangements are under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough.
