Matthew K. Derepentigny

Matthew K. Derepentigny, 58, of Allentown, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in his home. He and his wife, Devorah M. â€sDebbieâ€t Abeiga, shared 22 years of marriage. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, he was a son of the late David and Sylvia (Woods) Derepentigny. Matt worked as a Chef for many years at various restaurants in the Lehigh Valley, as well as in Killington, Vermont and at Chef Andre’s in Hollywood, Florida. Later, he found joy in taking various jobs as a handyman. Matt was a member of St. Paul’s R.C. Church in Allentown. He loved to golf, play guitar and had a great passion of cooking for his family. Survivors: His loving wife, Debbie; son, Payton M. Derepentigny of Allentown; daughter, Andrea Aveiga of Coplay; sister, Kim and brothers, Mark and Pete Derepentigny; 2 grandchildren whom he adored, Landon S. Aveiga-Miller and Sophie O. Aveiga-Miller. Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 25, 2025 at St. Paul’s R.C. Church, 920 S. 2nd Street, Allentown. A viewing for relatives and friends will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service in the church. Interment will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Allentown. Arrangements are entrusted to the K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown.
