Michael Crumpler Obituary

Michael Stanley Crumpler I, 38, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 20th in Smithfield Township. He was the husband of the late Michelle J. (Naranjo) Crumpler who died in 2018. Born on April 24, 1986 in Bronx, NY, he was a son of Sonia (Roberts) Crumpler of East Stroudsburg and the late Stanley Crumpler. Michael and his family moved to Monroe County in 2000 and he attended Pleasant Valley Middle School and graduated from Pleasant Valley High School. He served in the United States Army from July 13, 2005 to October 23, 2014. Specialist Michael S. Crumpler was an active duty Airborne Combat soldier who specialized in Wheel Vehicle Engineering and he was tactically and technically proficient in his field of duty. He proudly served his country for over nine years and received numerous awards and medals for his selfless service. Those medals include Global War On Terrorism, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with three stars, Iraq Campaign Medal with two Campaign Stars, a Bronze Star, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, three Valorous Unit Awards, three Army Good Conduct Medals, a National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge and Combat Action Badge. He was a great leader and friend to many. His service shows his dedication and commitment to fighting for the freedoms that we all enjoy today and his commitment to serving his country will always remain the greatest gift anyone could give. Michael was a graduate of Eastwick College in Ramsey, NJ and worked as a cardiovascular stenography technician in the cardiac unit of St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. In addition to his mother, surviving are a son, Michael S. Crumpler II; a sister, Michelle A. Crumpler; a brother, Samuel J. Crumpler and wife Katrina; two nephews, Keyshawn Chism and Samuel J. Crumpler, Jr; his parents-in-law, Hector and Rosario Naranjo; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a viewing on Friday, May 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3rd, at the Reaching Out for Jesus Christian Center, 344 Stroud Mall Road, Stroudsburg where viewing will begin at noon and be followed by the homegoing service at 1:00Pm with Bishop Dr. Kenneth L. Pearman officiating. Burial will take place on Monday, May 5th at Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances of Specialist Michael S. Crumpler, may be made to Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org in memory of those who honorably served.
