Michael David Miller

1970 - 2025

Michael David Miller of Slatington, formerly of Slatedale, passed away at home on Thursday November 6th after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Allentown on June 9th 1970 to the late Sandra Miller (Moyer) and Creighton "Bobo" Miller. He married the love of his life, Luz (Lucy) Miller, on August 25th 2007. They shared their life and love of the outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing or driving the side-by-side at the cabin in NY, they were enjoying their time together. Mike loved hunting and fishing, which was evident from the numerous taxidermied items he had throughout their house. He worked at Nestlé Purina for 21 years as a forklift operator and was a shop steward, along with a P.E.O. He is survived by his wife, brother Jonathan Miller and his wife Adriane of Walnutport, Aunt Carole Miller and the late Kay McGucken of Tampa, Florida, sisters-in-law Sonia Olivo and Carmen Rodriguez, mother-in-law Anna Roman, all of Philadelphia, his stepsons Steven Ortiz of San Diego, CA, Ruben Ortiz of Philadelphia, step-grandson Jameson Ortiz of Newfoundland, Uncle Ernest Moyer and the late Grace of Slatington, Aunt Janice Silliman and the late Ronald of Slatington, Aunt Deborah Kern and Arthur of Wescosville, Aunt Nancy Loch and Larry of Alburtis, along with cousins and numerous friends he had throughout his life. He is predeceased by his mother and father, grandfather's Ernest Moyer Sr. and Lester Miller, grandmother's Mary (Maisie) Moyer and June Miller, Aunt Karen and Rodney Mummey. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday November 15th at Hunsicker Funeral home in Orefield, with calling hours from 1-2 and service at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Slatedale Fire Company in Mike's name.
