Michael Roberto Obituary

Michael J. Roberto, of Bradenton, FL and a former long-term resident of East Norriton, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8, 2025. He was 76 years old. Born May 17, 1948, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Michael and Lillian (nee Santangelo) Roberto, and the beloved husband of Mary Alice (nee Nowakowski) Roberto, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. Michael served in the U.S. Navy as a SP-2H aircraft mechanic from 1967 to 1973. In addition to starting his own business, Roberto Excavating, Michael built a career as an operating engineer and retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 with 50 years of service. He held a seat on the Whitpain Greens Swim Club board and was a member of the Delaware Valley Corvette Club. Michael enjoyed many things in life, especially time spent with friends and family, playing cards, watching the Godfather trilogy, traveling, celebrating holidays, and spoiling his grandkids. He will be remembered for his dedication to loved ones and enthusiasm for life, especially while behind the wheel of his Corvette. In addition to his wife Alice, Michael is survived by his sons Michael (Cathi) and Mark Roberto, as well as his two grandchildren: Michael and Catelyn. He was preceded in death by his two sisters: Madeline Houston and Charlotte Proietto. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Michael's Life Celebration on Monday April 21st, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, and again on Tuesday April 22nd from 9 AM to 9:50 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope St., East Norriton. His Memorial Mass will begin at 10 AM at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Augustine's Cemetery immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name can be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA) and/or American Cancer Society.
