I've been trying to gather words at the news to Mikes passing. I came to the conclusion I have none. This man was the greatest ever. My son Derrick never set foot in the classroom due to covid-19 and he helped Derrick get through it. Derrick decided to do the summer program Mike did, and Derrick could not stop talking about him. Derrick was just talking about going to races with him until the news broke out. We are so sadden of these news. Derrick was so estatic when he made Bulldog of the month and Honor Roll at the same time. We all remained in contact with Mike now that Derrick is now a sophmore just can't believe were not gonna hear him bust on Derrick about the football games. This past game against the Steelers and Eagles would have been the best ever. We will definitely miss him and he was so full of life. Could not ask for a better teacher and friend. Derrick will always cherish the time spent laughing and having fun Especially during the pizza lunch we had with him and all the teachers. He was a great man and was so greatly appreciated for all he has done. Until we meet again we will miss you RIP. Derrick H. & Denise

Mike and I were close friends in the old neighborhood. We had a lot of good times. As time went on, we sort of went our own ways. We stayed friends, of course. Throughout all of these years, the one thing that never seemed to change was Mike-his personality. Sure he matured, but he somehow maintained that happy-go-lucky attitude(and his gait reflected it). Looking back through the years, I can´t remember anyone EVER having anything bad to say about Mike. I was lucky to have him as a friend. I´d like to thank Neal and Carol for whatever it was that made him so different.

Oh Mr. Hunsberger, I could say so much about you and your spirit. 10 years ago, you saved my life. I was going through the worst time at home and you knew that just without me telling you. You made sure to ask me how I was doing and spend more time with me as you knew I was depressed and being bullied. You were my hero. A couple months ago, I was going to reach out to you and ask you to meet up for lunch but I was worried you wouldn´t remember me. (Even though deep down I knew you would) I thought I had more time. God knew he needed an angel like you. Your kindness, selflessness, and overall attitude will never be forgotten. Thank you for saving my life. Thank you for being my hero. Tell Zachi we said Hello, I´m sure he is so happy to see you. You sure left your print on this world. Love you always. - Julie Mello, Julie Mello, Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow. (I´ll never forget the fun you had with my name.)

I am so sorry to hear of Mike´s passing. I worked with him at Raub and he was a great teacher and a wonderful colleague. We had a lot of fun on the third floor. Rest in peace my friend. You made quite a contribution to the children of ASD.
