Patricia Riley Obituary

Patricia G. Riley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away surrounded by her family on April 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Calumet, Minnesota on August 2, 1940, Pat brought warmth and joy into the lives of all who knew her. A graduate of SUNY Potsdam, she devoted several years of her life to teaching second grade, where her gentle spirit and compassionate nature left a lasting impression on countless young minds. Pat spent most of her life in Bethlehem, where she built a beautiful life with her husband of 54 years, William J. Riley. Together they raised two daughters, Lisa R. Riley and Amber Riley-Sottile, who, along with her grandson, Douglas R. Sottile, survive her and will carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and grace. Known for her infectious smile, genuine interest in others, and unwavering optimism, Pat was deeply involved in her community. She served as a Stephen Minister, was an active member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and embraced a life rooted in compassion and purpose. Pat loved swimming, reading, and going to the movies, and---most of all---spending time with her family. She had a natural gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. Her kind soul and joyful presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, in the Pearson Funeral Home, 1901 Linden Street, Bethlehem, PA, followed by repast at Prime Steakhouse, 325 Stoke Park Road. Bethlehem, PA 18017 from 3:00-6:00 PM. Her spirit lives on in the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories that will forever warm our hearts.
