Sadie Galio Obituary
Sadie Frances Galio, 93, of Macungie, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2025. Born on November 22, 1931, in Ayden, North Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of Louis and Sadie Hatch, and the 9th out of 10 children.
Frances was a woman of remarkable strength, intelligence, and compassion who touched countless lives throughout her 93 years. She was a first generation American, as both her parents immigrated from Beirut Lebanon. She earned both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees and dedicated her career to education as a school teacher, shaping young minds with patience, wisdom, and care. Her love of learning and commitment to helping others achieve their potential was a defining characteristic that she carried throughout her life.
As a loving mother, Frances' devotion to her family was unwavering. She created a warm, nurturing home filled with love, passion, laughter, and the values she held dear. Her journey through life took her from her birthplace in North Carolina to Norfolk, Virginia, then to Malta, Jacksonville, Florida, Slatington, Pennsylvania, and finally to Macungie, Pennsylvania, where she spent her final years. Each place became home because of the love and warmth she brought to it.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry A. Galio Jr.; her parents, Louis and Sadie Hatch; and her siblings Louis Hatch, Roger Hatch, Van Dyke Hatch, Edward Hatch, Louise Mosley, Lillian Koonce, Elaine Harris, and Victoria Hatch, nieces Diane Mosely, and many others.
She is survived by her loving son, Henry Anthony Galio III and his wife Heidi Galio; her cherished grandchildren Harrison Galio, Heather Galio, and Hayden Galio; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews including John Koonce, John-David Hatch, Shirley Shackleford, Joe (Len) Hatch, Robert Stettner, John Stettner, and many other loving family members who will miss her dearly.
Frances's legacy lives on through the countless students she taught, the family she raised with such love, the friends she had, and the example she set of living a life filled with purpose, education, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her gentle spirit, wisdom, and loving heart will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.

Rev. Eric Arnout is officiating. There will be a calling hour from 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment following at Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.
