Alice Mae Alzak

Alice Mae Alzak, 77, of Suffield, formerly of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Alice was born in Springfield, MA, daughter of the late Harry, Sr. and Stella Weatherwax, attended Enfield High School, and lived most of her life in Enfield, before moving to Suffield three years ago. She was employed as a machine operator with Hood Ice Cream and retired after many years of service. After retirement, she lovingly became a caregiver to her many grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart. Alice loved God and the Mother Mary and attended St. Martha's Church in Enfield. Alice loved her family and always bragged about them. She also had a special relationship with her sisters, and they spoke on the phone daily. Alice was a giving woman and was always willing to help those in need, and most recently, she enjoyed her daily visits to the Suffield Senior Center, where she made many new friends. Alice had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humor, and loved listening to Polka music on Saturday Mornings. She also enjoyed playing bingo, reading, and playing cards and board games, including Yahtzee! Alice leaves behind her children, Lisa Rogers and her husband Michael of Windsor, Stephen Racette and his wife Kathleen of Southwick, MA, and Clint Racette and his wife Jennifer of Enfield; her grandchildren, Karisa Racette, Lindsey Kier, Andrew Racette, Michael Kier, Owen Racette, Skye Racette, Angelica Racette, Alexander Alzak and Abigail Alzak; her godchildren, Shirley Smith and Jesse James Weatherwax; her siblings, Barbara Carter and her husband Wayne of Enfield, Joanne Violette of Mystic, Ann Marie Carter and her husband Aaron of Enfield, and Harry Weatherwax, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Enfield; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Alzak, Sr.; her son, Alfred Alzak, Jr.; her brother, James Weatherwax; and sister, Patsy Cayer. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 12 Noon, in Hazardville Cemetery, Elm Street, Enfield.
