Gary Edward Kostek

Gary Edward Kostek, 78, of South Windsor, beloved husband of Claudette (Pepin) Kostek, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August13, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Gary was born in Hartford, CT, on February 5, 1947, son of the late Edward and Rose (Ratti) Kostek. He grew up in East Hartford and graduated from East Hartford High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Western New England College and a master's degree from the University of Hartford. He served our country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Marine Corps. Upon returning from the war, he met and married the love of his life, Claudette Pepin on November 10, 1973, and they settled in South Windsor. Gary worked for the MDC and retired as a supervisor after over 25 years of service. Gary enjoyed traveling with his wife all over the world, was a sports fan including boxing and baseball. He was also a member of the VFW. Gary was his wife Claudette's best friend, her rock, her everything and will be dearly missed. Along with his wife Claudette of South Windsor, he leaves several extended family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2025, 10 a.m., meeting directly at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to a charity of the donor's choice.
