Jordan Butler Obituary
Jordan Anthony Butler, 29, of South Windsor, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 17, 2025.
Jordan was born in Manchester, the son of joyful parents, Derrick and Carina (Lancaster) Butler, and graduated from South Windsor High School where he was a member of both the robotics and football teams. He studied at the University of Connecticut School of Engineering before entering the Navy Nuclear Engineering Program. Jordan was always very industrious and opened J. Butler Project Management to manage and oversee property and various commercial moving projects. He worked for several years as an installer and forklift operator for Siracusa Moving and recently was a safety inspector for I-Safe Inspections. During the pandemic, he helped manage Personal Protective Equipment inventory for the State of Connecticut Emergency Services.
Jordan was a loving and devoted son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. For years he asked for a sister, and upon the arrival of his new baby sister, Moorea, he jumped up and down and could not contain his excitement. Jordan was a blessing as a son and always let his parents and sister know that he loved them, as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He will be remembered as a kind and caring man who put others before himself and loved his family more than anything. Jordan was generous and would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket if you needed it. Once, a homeless man asked him for money for food and he bought him a cart full of groceries. His generosity and love knew no boundaries and he treated everyone equally, regardless of who they were or where they came from. Jordan gave back to his community and was a volunteer at the Armory, loading trucks for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief, helping at the local soup kitchen, participating in Button Up Connecticut coat drives, and packing supplies for 911 victims. He also liked to critique his mom's volunteer work editing Children's Bible Videos for Christian Questions podcast and website.
At an early age, Jordan was a member of the Hartford Bible Students Ecclesia. For ten years, he attended youth Bible classes, Bible camps, and youth seminars in Connecticut and the Midwest, and appreciated and enjoyed the many friends and teachers he met while participating in these activities.
Jordan loved music and especially enjoyed playing his guitar for family and friends, and at some of the Bible camps. His guitar instructor said he was one of the best he had seen at playing by ear as well as using notes. Jordan was very much an outdoorsman and loved traveling, hiking, and boating with his family. He enjoyed riding and repairing anything mechanical, such as quads, ATV's, dirt bikes, and snowmobiles, and frequently snowmobiled in Northern New Hampshire and the First Connecticut Lake areas with his parents and sister. Jordan also loved to travel, and it led him to some of his favorite places, Normandy, Paris, Southern France, Italy, and Hawaii.
Jordan will be deeply missed and holds a special place in the hearts of his family and those who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Derrick and Carina, and sister, Moorea, who have an ache in their hearts with his passing, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Martha Lancaster; his aunt, Deborah Grenier; uncles, Aaron Butler and his wife Elsie, Wayne Lancaster, and David Grenier; his cousins, Devin Grenier, Dylan Grenier, Danielle Grenier, and Aaron Butler, Jr.; as well as many special friends.
Jordan was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, James Butler, Sr. and Shirley Butler; and his uncle, Jim Butler, Jr.
His family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 5-7 p.m., with a brief prayer service at 6 p.m., at the Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor, and on Tuesday morning, June 24, 10-11 a.m., with a Funeral Service, 11 a.m., at the Lodge.
Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
