Julia Buonocure

Julia Dellacamera Buonocure, 97 of Branford passed away peacefully at St. Raphael's Hospital on Sunday March 29, 2026. She was born in New Haven on December 22, 1928 to the late Louis and Christina Dellacamera, and the wife of the late Dominic Buonocure.

Julia loved family get-togethers, traveling all over- especially to Hawaii and Las Vegas. Julia loved living in downtown Branford where she lived for the past 13 years. She loved walking with Peggy to the green, and stopping for a cup of tea at Common Grounds. She loved to eat good food, especially Franks Anginette cookies. Julia would never pass up a trip to Mohegan Sun Casino where she could be found sitting with her sister Mary playing the slot machines for hours on end.

She is survived by her daughters Peggy Criscio (Frank Casale), and Stephanie Reynolds; her brother Fred Dellacamera; her Grandchildren Anthony Goraieb III, Teena Reynolds; her great-grandchildren Anthony Goraieb IV, and Dominic Goraieb, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and her friend of more than 80 years Ann "Pat" Thomas of Branford, and Laura Storlazzi.

She is pre-deceased by her son James Reynolds, and her brothers Angelo, George, Benjamin, James, Twin Brother Michael, Joseph, and Albert Dellacamera, her sisters Joan Cirrincione, Mary Vacca, Florence Guglietti, and her former husband Matthew Reynolds.

Julias family will be welcoming guests to calling hours on WEDNESDAY April 1, 2026 from 11am-12 noon at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home 425 Main St East Haven, CT 06512. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 1230 for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at 1pm at St. John Bosco Parish- Church of St. Mary on Main St Branford, CT. She will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery in Hamden immediately following the mass.
