Kenneth Pieper Obituary

Kenneth Mark Pieper, 70, of Terryville, husband of Deborah (Shugrue) Pieper, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, while surrounded by family at Bristol Hospital. He was born on October 13, 1954, in Hartford and grew up in Bloomfield. He was the only son of the late Herman and Marie Simone (Fournier) Pieper. Prior to his retirement, Kenny was employed by Otis Elevater in Farmington, as a Customer Service Supervisor. He was a quiet man but always had a good "dad joke" up his sleeve. He enjoyed history, Vikings and his Danish heritage. He was an avid collector of early American roadside memorabilia, wild boar trinkets and loved watching classic movies and cartoons. Kenny loved to garden and make turkey soup, tomato sauce, and his famous zucchini relish. He loved his cats, his family and especially his grandchildren. Besides his wife, Debbie, of 42 years, Kenny leaves behind his son, Jack (Pieper) Shanahan of Terryville; his daughter Carolyn Pieper and her partner Nicholas Dixey of Winsted; his beloved grandchildren, Miles and Hazel Dixey; his sister-in-law Pamela Bochicchio and her husband Bill of Watertown; his niece Beverly Chang and her husband Hyunjin of Burlington; his nephew Eric Strassner and his wife Jackie of Idaho; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and best friend John Burns of West Hartford. Family and friends may visit at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St, Terryville, on Sunday, August 24, from 12-2 PM. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Kenneth Mark Pieper, please visit our floral store.

Kenny {aka} "my work dad"and I worked with each other for over 20 years. He was funny, always helped me when I had car issues or simply to afraid to drive in the snow. He had a great sense of humor. "especially in our ALL DAY meetings that he loved so much. He will be greatly missed.

I´m so very sorry for your precious loss of Kenny. He was my very first supervisor at Otisline, first job, 3rd shift,
I was a nervous wreck. He was so understanding, patient, kind and had a great sense of humor.
One Winter 3rd shift, I came in for work ill with a fever, about 1 hour in, he approached and suggested I go home, asked for my car keys, then he went outside and cleaned the snow off my car, turned it on & set the heat on. Returned the keys and told me to call when I reached home. So grateful for his genuine kindness and I will always remember him this way. Kenny, Rest In sweet Peace with Jesus.

I´m so sad to hear of Ken´s passing. He was my very first boss at OtisLine back in 2004, and I´ll never forget how kind, understanding, and genuinely funny he was. Ken had a special way of making those long third-shift hours not just bearable, but enjoyable.

You will be truly missed, sir.

My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, children, and entire family. May his memory continue to live on through each of you.
