Mildred Booker Obituary

Mildred L. Booker Obituary Mildred L. Booker, departed this life and peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 31, 2025. Mildred was born on September 10 1934 in Charleston, Mississippi, the daughter of Robert and Ola Little. Raised with faith as a guiding light, she carried the values of family, hospitality, and service into every facet of her life. From a young age she learned the importance of hard work, kindness, and a warm welcome for all who crossed her path. These traits shaped not only her own life but the lives of those who knew her best. She lived a life marked by faith, family, and service. Mildred dedicated herself to her work at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she spent approximately fifty years in food services. She was known by colleagues for integrity, teamwork, generosity, and unwavering dedication. Beyond her professional duties, she extended her heart to the broader community, volunteering with Destiny Family Life Center and Unity Outreach Ministries, always ready to lend a helping hand and listen with care. Her church life was central to her identity; she served in the Usher Ministry, contributed to food distribution in the community, and participated in the church kitchen committee. Mildred believed in serving others with humility, and she embodied that belief in every interaction. Her family was the core of her world. Mildred cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family, often welcoming them with warmth, laughter, and a home-cooked meal. She enjoyed cooking for her family, tending to her garden, reading, and sharing stories of days gone by. In her family, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister, and she valued the ties that bind them all. She is survived by three sons: Ulish Booker Jr. (wife Linda), Marcus Booker (wife Betty), and Darius Booker. She also leaves two brothers, Marcel Little and Wade Little; one sister, Lunetha Nolan, one sister-in-law Martha Dye and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will carry her memory forward with love. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Ulish Booker Sr.; daughter Shelly Goldfarb; son Stanley Booker and granddaughter Jacqueline Goldfarb. Her spiritual and practical strengths-faith, patience, and grace-remain a guiding light for those who knew her and for the generations she helped shape through example and care.
